I vividly remember the excitement leading up to the opening of "Fresh Paint 3," Israel's largest art fair a fair that gives a stage both to young artists and to established names of renown.

The fair was founded in 2008 at the initiative of Yifat Gurion and Sharon Tillinger, with several goals in mind: making art accessible to the general public, providing a leap forward for promising unrepresented artists, combining commerce with curatorship, temporary and innovative venues, and prizes and incentives.

I was among the artists carefully selected to exhibit at "Fresh Paint 3," held in Hangar/Warehouse 1 at the Jaffa Port, opening on 08/05/2010.

Through the hangar's openings stretched the view of Jaffa's sea, in the turquoise and blue hues I love and draw inspiration from in many of my paintings a view that accompanied those days and colored them with a light of its own.

The setup involved a great deal of excitement and hands-on work, but the thrill and joy it brought were worth all the sweat and fatigue.

The diverse audience and the encounters with it, the logistics and preparations, along with being present throughout the entire fair all of these gave me a glimpse beyond, and a way out of, the closed work inside the studio. As an artist accustomed to a solitary routine within the world of creation, I was exposed to and had to answer questions I wasn't used to before, such as my sources of inspiration, or the time required to create a given painting.

It was a pleasure to discover that the audience loved my works enough to want to purchase them. That was a peak moment, in which I understood that my art had spread its wings and reached the homes of others.

I am grateful for the opportunity, and hope my works will always see the light in new and exciting places.
