India in Colors

Traveling to India was once a distant dream for me accompanied by longing, hesitation, and fear. Fear of the unknown, of distance, of what is unfamiliar. I admit that these fears were also shaped by preconceived notions of poverty, dirt, and chaos. And yet, something magnetic kept drawing me toward this alluring country. Its spirituality, its people, the experiences waiting there none of it would let me go. Eventually, I made a decision that changed me.

I arrived in a breathtaking land that awakened all my senses. Scents of unfamiliar spices, food that ignites the palate, vivid colors, magnificent fabrics, profound spirituality, and gentle, kind people who, despite their material poverty, carry within them a quiet acceptance of fate and a deep joy for life. This rare sense of acceptance, I believe, stems from true spirituality and gratitude toward the universe.

India invites reflection on destiny on what is given to us simply by the place of our birth and encourages us to move through life with compassion and awareness of gratitude for what the universe has granted us.

As an artist, my sensitivity to beauty erupted in full force. The markets, filled with handwoven textiles, carved vessels, jewelry, and handmade silk and wool, overwhelmed my senses. Walking through them felt like entering a time capsule. All senses collided at once color, scent, touch, sound merging into one vivid experience.

What fascinated me most was a shop of hand-carved wooden doors. Each door told its own story. For me, a door is a profound symbol: a gateway to hope, a passage to a new path, a threshold to the unknown.

What I am trying to say is simple do not be afraid. Dare, touch, explore, awaken your senses to the unknown, and collect memories that live through body and emotion.

Everyone encounters India differently, but one thing is certain you do not remain indifferent.

Namaste.
